This forum is where you can submit ideas you may have for future improvements to our software systems. All ideas submitted are received and read thoroughly and repeatedly. We do not provide individual responses or detailed status updates on feature suggestions, but all your ideas are valued and considered. Some ideas take just a few days, some will take years, and some may not happen, but they all start by submitting them here. Any ideas you have are welcome!

  1. Notify coaches & ADs on changes and cancellations

    Your system would be nearly perfect for us if it notified coaches via email and/or text of any game cancellations or changes (just like it does with refs).

  2. Interval Game Scheduler

    We schedule 3,000 + games per year. When I add recurring games, I have to add a recurring game for the same field on the same night 4 different times for start times 6:15, 7:15, 8:15, 9:15 for example. It would be easier for us to just select that field and be able to say there are 4 games with 1 hour intervals starting at 6:15 and then have that apply to the date range we have selected. It would reduce my time entering games by 75%. I know this would be a bit more complicated to program though!

  3. Prefix and Suffix on Game Number

    Ability to put a prefix and suffix on game code to be able to more easily determine where the game came from. With over 3000 games a year it can get confusing.

    If a pre/suffix isn't possible, can you make the game number more than 8 characters to accomodate this feature? I could put it in the game number to help out.

  4. Notes through game import

    It would be nice to be able to import game notes during the import process; i.e. note that games are part of a tournament.

  5. Ical download for coaches schedules

    I would like to be able to download my teams schedules in ical format so that any changes can be automatically updated by by calendar app. It seems that this is available for reffs but not coaches?

  7. Ratings Comments show Date & Game ID

    knowing where you stopped reviewing all of the comments can be cumbersome and time consuming. A simple posted date by the author would be very helpful in one of the columns

  10. Copy Game Function

    We have a generic league code in our system which we use to pay an official for fees that we don't want to direct back at a client but rather pay ourselves. For example, if we scheduled a game in error and the official went to the rink. Another example, if we have one of two officials no show due to an auto accident (we had this case this weekend), we want to see that both officials are paid their expected game fee. Yet, the one in the accident didn't work the game so we don't want his name in…

    Shows the last dates the a referee skated a certain team while checking out the matrix instead of just how many times he has seen that team

  12. adds a comment to the response to a TBA notice.

    There is a TBA game that I would like to request, but I can currently only work games as a mentored official. Including a comment to the response would allow me to conditionally request games if when responding to a TBA request, if I could add a comment saying that I can only do games with a mentor at this time.

  14. Prevent unwanted multiple positions from assignment

    For baseball, we almost always have 1 plate umpire, 1 base umpire. When i created the positions, 1 base umpire max / 1 plate umpire max was specified. Change the assigning software to prevent me from assigning 2 or more base / plate umpires when i have specified a max of 1.

  15. recurring meeting

    I would like to have the option to add a recurring meeting, similar to the recurring game. We have a general meeting every week during the season and I'd like to be able to add a weekly meeting.

  16. "Read Email" feature added to Messages

    As assignor, I would appreciate knowing who is reading and not reading my emails that I send out via Horizon Web Ref. Is there a way we can see who reads the messages we send out?

  18. Allow the Members Directory to be filtered by Custom Profile fields not just contact groups.

    Currently the Members Directory defaults to "All Officials" with a drop down to select by user type ("Schedulers") or Contact Groups. If you use Custom Profile Fields to track anything it should be usable as a filter for the Directory, either as a single field sort (field is present for a particular profile) or more usefully, a dynamic filter with option for logic function to be applied to the field. Best implementation would be a varadic filter which can be created and saved to work the same way as a Contact Group - alternatively if the backend supports it simple…

  20. Collecting Association Fees

    When an official logs into their account at the start of season a pop up window opens up and the user needs to pay the association fee by credit card. Horizon Web Ref would get a cut if the money and the rest goes in the administrators account.
