Feature Suggestions
This forum is where you can submit ideas you may have for future improvements to our software systems. All ideas submitted are received and read thoroughly and repeatedly. We do not provide individual responses or detailed status updates on feature suggestions, but all your ideas are valued and considered. Some ideas take just a few days, some will take years, and some may not happen, but they all start by submitting them here. Any ideas you have are welcome!

Allow arena preferences to be Preferred or Acceptable
Allow arena preferences to be Preferred or Acceptable, rather than active or blocked for assigning purposes.
By having the ability to split your arenas into the arenas that you prefer to go to, and which are acceptable to go to, this would allow for the administrators/assignors/payroll people, to add mileage to officials where an arena is acceptable. For example, if I am willing to travel to an arena that is 50 KM away from my home, I would list it as acceptable and could be assigned there if needed... I wouldn't want to be assigned there on a permanent basis,…

Block the directory from umpires unless assigned with a partner
We have some guys on our roster that use our directory to search umpires for games outside of our association. I would like to be able to keep them from using the directory to do this unless they are assigned to a game and need to contact their partner.

Able to Assign an official instead of only offer them an assignment.
There are times we need to just assign them a game because the game was missed and they stepped up to cover. It would help.

Allows schedulers to see and assign TBA requests from Master Game Schedule
We use the TBA system exclusively. Once umpires are assigned to a game, the Master Game Schedule shows the names of the assigned officials and allows us to cancel an assignment if we want by clicking the X box. The TBA system would be easier to use if the MGS displayed the names of all officials who have requested TBA assignments for the games on the schedule. Right now we just see the number of officials who have responded, but if those officials get assigned to other games, the number doesn't go down and so schedulers need to go into…

We’ve evaluated this concept in the past. At this time, we’re satisfied with our current implementation for handling this scenario. You can read more about that here: http://horizonwebref.com/new-features/suggestions/2175125

Auto Linking feature needs tweaking
When using the auto link feature, it is making officials unnecessarily move fields. Here is scenario:
Field A has 3 games at 6:45, 7:45, and 8:45
Field B at the same complex has 4 games at 6:45, 7:45, 8:45, and 9:45.
When using the autolink feature, it takes Umpire A and gives them the 3 games on field A and the 9:45 on Field B instead of giving 3 games to umpire A and 4 games to Umpire B.
It doesn't matter that the complex is the same, the fields are different and the umpire assigned to field B should…
1 voteYou can already accomplish this via our existing features. I recommend contacting our support team for details on how to disable the location pooling opreations.

WE need to be able to canel more than 1 game at a time
Just like publishing games and announcing TBA's in the left margin with the plus sign and the X we need to be able to cancel games in mass.

Add Game Date to Cancellation Text Message
Your text messages should have the date of the game in them. Remove the line of text that says please log in and replace with a text.
When game reminders are sent they have a date attached to them. When a canceled game follows that, it looks as though that is in direct correlation to the game for that day and has already caused early confusion.

Mass edit contact group of official AFTER game has been accepted
Mass edit button to change contact groups of officials for already accepted games.
1 voteEditing contact groups can be done at any time. Whether or not an official has accepted a game or not has no bearing on whether a Contact Group can be edited on the system. Thank you for submitting an idea.

Limits what an Assigner/Administrator can see about me.
I am a member of two umpiring associations. Based on the FAQ I read about what the Assigner can see about me, he can look at the diagnostics page to see WHY i am unavailable...
Now, if the two Asscs. get crossways w/ each other, I might be "frozen out" of assignments from one or both of the groups. My Concern: I don't see how it is anyone's business WHY I am unavailable, but especially I don't want one organization knowing that I am working for another organization just that I am unavailable for those times.
1 voteYour understanding of the Diagnostics table is incorrect. The Diagnostics table provides assignors with the systemic reason for ineligibility, but ONLY if you said you were available. If you set yourself as available, but the system finds a reason why you should not be eligible, the system will overrule your availability and provide your assignor with diagnostics why it did so. If you simply mark yourself as unavailable on your calendar, the system provides no further details beyond that distinction.

rankings legend
When assigning an official, have the ability to see what the rankings stand for.
When you hover over the ranking, it will pop up a window which shows what the rankings mean. These rankings are number based and it gets confusing what the numbers mean without having a legend opened on your computer.
3 votesThe manual ranking system isn’t intended to be used with a text-based legend. Generally, if you’re looking for a more text-based approach, we recommend using Group Contact Restrictions instead of Manual Rankings.

Manual rankings
Instead of a number rankings, have the ability to have division rankings.
e.g. for hockey.
If an official can Referee up to Peewee Rep and Lines up to Bantam Rep, have to ability to input this and not just a number.
3 votesThis functionality already exists via the Game Code block system which allows you to specify which levels an official can or cannot work without using numerical rankings. You can also use Contact Group Restrictions for this too. Manual Rankings are generally intended for organizations that already utilize a numerical hierarchy.
