Feature Suggestions
This forum is where you can submit ideas you may have for future improvements to our software systems. All ideas submitted are received and read thoroughly and repeatedly. We do not provide individual responses or detailed status updates on feature suggestions, but all your ideas are valued and considered. Some ideas take just a few days, some will take years, and some may not happen, but they all start by submitting them here. Any ideas you have are welcome!

Update availability automatically based on your Google Calendar
You already provide for syncing TO Google Calendar.
One great addition to this, albeit not trivial, would be to use the data in your Google Calendar to automatically set your availability.
You could allow for rules to be user defined.
So I could say, if I have an event in my Google Calendar, I'm not available 2 hours before or 2 hours after.
This would help, a lot!
35 votesUnfortunately, we will likely not be incorporating this anytime in the near future due to the complications that can arise from this option. We’re going to keep the idea, though, because we like it and hope someday we can make it happen. Thanks!

Add my email signatures to every message
I would like to save my email signature and send that out with every message I send to my officials

Enhance the Game data
I would like to be able to have a notes section or some sort of Division so that I can choose which division a team is in.
I have Men, Coed, and Womens all of whom have a Division 1, 2, etc. A notes section would be great. That way I could put division in teh notes or perhaps let the umpire know that this is a play in game and a winner is needed.

10 votesAs the previous commenter has pointed out, this feature does already exist in that you can specify a “default schedule filter” setting in your personal profile so you don’t need to constantly change the schedule filters. Additionally, we’ve recently added a couple of quick buttons to help make jumping to common dates easier. Thank you for the idea.

Sort TBA by referee position
In our association, we have 3 referee positions for each game (Referee, Assistant 1, Assistant 2). Often, when sending out TBAs, most officials only want to officiate as a referee, but there are still some officials who want to be assistants.
A feature to sort TBAs by referee position would be helpful, so that officials don't need to click into each match to see what positions are available. Most of our matches have referees assigned, but there are always a few spots, and searching through the whole list of sometimes in excess of 100 matches is quite tedious. Thank you!

Allows Members to Email non-members or coach contacts listed in entered team info
Currently our assigner has entered host school info for the high schools we are calling games for. We as officials have to contact the coaches prior to our games for various reason. As it is now, we click on the email links in this area of the program and it sends you to the members email area but when you click on the to: draw down all that is there are the umpires. So to send the email I am having to copy past the email address into an external email system.

Able to Assign an official instead of only offer them an assignment.
There are times we need to just assign them a game because the game was missed and they stepped up to cover. It would help.

Make minor game changes without having to re-accept the assignment
Give the option to not require officials to re-accept an assignment (once previously accepted) when minor changes are made (i.e. position, game fees, etc...)
7 votesThis functionality already exists, but we recognize that there is certainly some room for debate on what is considered a “minor change”. At this time, we only require re-acceptance on changes that we do not consider to be minor. At this time, we are not in favor of changing our classifications on what constitutes a “minor change”.

usa hockey level show value on assigning screen
On the assigning game screen, show/visible USA hockey level.0(no level) thru 4. This would allow for leagues/teams to see if referees are certified for that level of hockey.

import games from a g-mail calendar
Our youth association is using g-mail schedules for the various levels. Is there a method of importing these into our system?

Allow league personnel to access payroll reports
Allow league personal members to have the same options as coaches and AD's do. For example billing invoices, payroll and etc....

Is it possible to see the rinks the official is at during the day in addition to the last rink of the day?
When looking at the schedule of officials, a scheduler can see that a certain official is already on other games by the red triangle with the exclamation point. However, only the last rink is visible. In the example below, the official is at South Suburban – Rink 1
This is an extreme example of someone who is already on many games in one day, but they are not at the same rink all day long. Put in tax information
We need to print out 1099 MISC forms to send to each official, it would be great to install a process in Horizons Web Ref program.
6 votesAs we ae not tax experts, we don’t intend to directly offer 1099 services. We do, however, integrate with two fantastic outside providers that will easily generate 1099s based on exports from our system. This is the path we’ll continue on for the foreseeable future to ensure tax information is handled by tax experts.

Decline by assignment Report
I would like to suggest a report that will record and show declines by person over a selected period of time so that we can determine who are biggest offenders of turning back assignments are.

Allow arena preferences to be Preferred or Acceptable
Allow arena preferences to be Preferred or Acceptable, rather than active or blocked for assigning purposes.
By having the ability to split your arenas into the arenas that you prefer to go to, and which are acceptable to go to, this would allow for the administrators/assignors/payroll people, to add mileage to officials where an arena is acceptable. For example, if I am willing to travel to an arena that is 50 KM away from my home, I would list it as acceptable and could be assigned there if needed... I wouldn't want to be assigned there on a permanent basis,…
