Feature Suggestions

This forum is where you can submit ideas you may have for future improvements to our software systems. All ideas submitted are received and read thoroughly and repeatedly. We do not provide individual responses or detailed status updates on feature suggestions, but all your ideas are valued and considered. Some ideas take just a few days, some will take years, and some may not happen, but they all start by submitting them here. Any ideas you have are welcome!

  1. WE need to be able to canel more than 1 game at a time

    Just like publishing games and announcing TBA's in the left margin with the plus sign and the X we need to be able to cancel games in mass.

  2. Add Game Date to Cancellation Text Message

    Your text messages should have the date of the game in them. Remove the line of text that says please log in and replace with a text.

    When game reminders are sent they have a date attached to them. When a canceled game follows that, it looks as though that is in direct correlation to the game for that day and has already caused early confusion.

  7. Limits what an Assigner/Administrator can see about me.

    I am a member of two umpiring associations. Based on the FAQ I read about what the Assigner can see about me, he can look at the diagnostics page to see WHY i am unavailable...

    Now, if the two Asscs. get crossways w/ each other, I might be "frozen out" of assignments from one or both of the groups.

    My Concern: I don't see how it is anyone's business WHY I am unavailable, but especially I don't want one organization knowing that I am working for another organization just that I am unavailable for those times.

    Your understanding of the Diagnostics table is incorrect. The Diagnostics table provides assignors with the systemic reason for ineligibility, but ONLY if you said you were available. If you set yourself as available, but the system finds a reason why you should not be eligible, the system will overrule your availability and provide your assignor with diagnostics why it did so. If you simply mark yourself as unavailable on your calendar, the system provides no further details beyond that distinction.

    We’ve decided not to incorporate this. An administrative assistant can currently be handled via our existing permissions structures. At this time, we’re not in favor of changing our existing permission structures. Thank you for submitting an idea!

  9. rankings legend

    When assigning an official, have the ability to see what the rankings stand for.

    When you hover over the ranking, it will pop up a window which shows what the rankings mean. These rankings are number based and it gets confusing what the numbers mean without having a legend opened on your computer.

  10. Manual rankings

    Instead of a number rankings, have the ability to have division rankings.

    e.g. for hockey.

    If an official can Referee up to Peewee Rep and Lines up to Bantam Rep, have to ability to input this and not just a number.

    This functionality already exists via the Game Code block system which allows you to specify which levels an official can or cannot work without using numerical rankings. You can also use Contact Group Restrictions for this too. Manual Rankings are generally intended for organizations that already utilize a numerical hierarchy.

    Unfortunately, this is not something we can do. If your scheduler issues multiple transactions, we are required by financial auditing requirements to process & list each transaction separately and independently. If you’re concerned with receiving multiple transactions, you would need to request your scheduler issue your payments together as a single payment.

  14. Be able to download the public schedule and to be able to filter the public schedule by referee.

    To ease car pooling and as a good feature it would be great to be able to download the public schedule. Another filter that would be by referee could also be of interest. Finally the limit of 100 games in the public view is very limiting as it is less than 1 full week of games.

  16. Contact specific schedulers from the webpage,

    Have on the availability page a form like this one. You type scheduler name on top then put a body. Then it is like a reverse request you request games from here.

  17. Add game status column to Export

    This is for auditing purposes for assignors games. Under the actions column in the online report, there is a need by our treasurer to have the action column populating the "Export Game Schedule" Excel Report. This is the column where the "status" is recorded for values such as "Cancelled".

    As we tend to "select all" for each district, all codes under the action column would be shown in the report online (as it is now for cancelled) but would also be in the Excel CSV file export.

  18. Sort TBA by referee position

    In our association, we have 3 referee positions for each game (Referee, Assistant 1, Assistant 2). Often, when sending out TBAs, most officials only want to officiate as a referee, but there are still some officials who want to be assistants.

    A feature to sort TBAs by referee position would be helpful, so that officials don't need to click into each match to see what positions are available. Most of our matches have referees assigned, but there are always a few spots, and searching through the whole list of sometimes in excess of 100 matches is quite tedious. Thank you!

  19. Incident Reports without Teams

    Need to be able to use teams to open incident reporting but need home/away function to have the option to be turned off. Travel ball organizations don't establish home/away until minutes before game time via coin toss. This has been confusing for our coaches and umpires.

  20. API to integrate into GotSoccer

    Currently GotSoccer software allows updates to schedules to automatically update the referee schedule in Arbiter referee assigning software. Wanted to see if there was a potential API we can use for Horizon as well.

    GotSoccer does not have their own public API so there isn’t anything we can do on our end to provide integration options. We do already provide a public API for any external service to connect to our system, but you would need to contact GotSoccer and ask them to utilize our API for integration.
