This forum is where you can submit ideas you may have for future improvements to our software systems. All ideas submitted are received and read thoroughly and repeatedly. We do not provide individual responses or detailed status updates on feature suggestions, but all your ideas are valued and considered. Although this is a great idea, our competitors are not so willing to allow us to create a feature like this. We’ll keep this in the back of our minds, however, we’re declining this idea since the reality is that we will most likely not be able to create a feature like this. Unfortunately, it is beyond our control. Thanks for the idea.

Our youth association is using g-mail schedules for the various levels. Is there a method of importing these into our system?

There is already a mobile version of our system and has been one for quite some time. It will generally automatically take you there if you’re using a widely recognized mobile device like an Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, or similar device. If not, there is an option at the bottom of the page to manually use the mobile version. The mobile version can even be used on a desktop computer if you wanted, although it’s not recommended.

  6. Flashing banners

Any thing that flashes at you is irritating, I suggest using colors to catch the eye instead.

At this time we only use flashing in two locations for System Updates and System Reminders, both of which we consider essential information. We’ll look for alternative options in the future, however, at this time we find the flashing to be the most effective for getting the attention of all our users, when necessary. Thank you for the idea.

  7. Time Restrictions re: Accepting Assignments

When assignments are published, the administrator should be able to determine when the assignment must be accepted by. If the official does not accept it by the date allocated, it will be automatically turned back to the assignor for re-assignment.

Some games require a direct reason when declining a game. Additionally, declining a game should be a rare occurrence when using the system properly, as you should almost never get a game you don’t want. To deter users from simply forgetting to update their calendar, blocks or other areas we are declining this idea as we don’t want to make it easy to decline games. We would prefer that users use the tools available to avoid having to decline games at all. Thank you for the idea, though.

  9. allows viewing game data of any game even if games have not been accepted/declined.

I would like this option to be able to see who are the other assigned officials whether or not they have accepted or declined the game.

  10. iPad/Android App

An app that allows mobile devices to access horizonwebref. Doesn't necessarily need the entire interface but an app that gives access to schedule, members roster and school addresses would be helpful.

  14. return the update button on the availability page

I am quite surprised, and disappointed, with this change. Clicking an update button at the end of entering changes, especially on a page where lots of information could be accidentally changed with an inadvertent mouse click, is just standard web interface protocol.

Without the update button, the only way to ensure the change has gone through is to regenerate that page. For example, your provider has a momentary glitch, and one of your updates is not applied, but how would you know? The previous way, where the changed dates would flash in succession, was absolutely perfect. I hope we return…

We have decided not to incorporate this idea, however,we have added additional notifications to the calendar page so that you can be more aware that your change has successfully been recorded. A System Update has been posted with additional details. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we have decided no to incorporate this idea. We have considered this in lengthy discussions, however, we would prefer that users obtain their assignment information by visiting the system – this way, if the user has been neglecting some other event that requires their attention, we can either remind them and/or force them to complete the event before they are given the information they desire. Also, we want to make sure users are immediately accepting/declining assignments. If we provide all the information in the initial email, some users may not accept/decline the assignment in a timeline fashion. Thank you for the idea, though.

  18. add Gmail calendar feed/integration

  19. Show the website is secure

There is some sensitive data for users of this site. How do we know it is secure? Is it secure because the web admin says so? Not acceptable. This site should hire a security consultant to evaluate their security level and use a program that monitors the site for security intrusions. I wouldn't mind seeing a logo from a trusted security provider stating that this website is secure. I would look into what verisign has to offer.

Matt- Our system is constantly monitored and verified for security. The bottom right hand corner of every single page shows our security verifications, which is provided by Starfield Security Technologies. You can view this at any time to be shown our current security level, which is set at 256 bit encryption technology, which is the highest layer of security available today. Security is our number one priority above all else. Thank you for the concern, however, we do spend quite a bit of time and resources dedicated to securing our systems.

  20. Officials Ability System

Rather then using a numberic ability system, allow assignors to use a check box system to show what level each official is capable of working. This can be set up in the member director page.

I believe this feature already exists. If I understand your request correctly, you want to specify whether or not an official is eligible for a specific level. This can be accomplished using the Game Code block system. Likewise, you could also use the Position block system. This is essentially the exact same system you are proposing.
