Add self assign option
We are having constant problems on last minute openings with TBA requests and the extra back and forth it causes. This includes assigning the official per their request and then it turns into "oh I can't do it and I never accepted it." Other platforms allow officials to seamlessly grab these openings sometimes in the middle of the night when the assignor needs to be sleeping. And since it's a committed assignment once they hit the button, they know they have to be committed to take it.
While the concerns you raise about self assign when explaining the TBA system are valid, the customer should have the choice of what works best for their organization.

We have a very small organization (10 refs) that is 100% volunteer - no pay. Since we don't have the "competition" situation that is described as your reasoning for the modified self assigning model, has it been looked at as a option that can be turned off and on to self assign as opposed to fully ruling it out?
